Important Updates

Due to the federal government shutdown, the Social Security Administration is currently not issuing award letters/ proof of income letters. However, the letter is still accessible online: Individuals who have a personal “my Social Security” account can log in and download or print their benefit verification letter immediately.

You may have heard that the government shutdown is affecting November SNAP benefits if it continues.  It has been left to each state to determine if it can cover the cost of the benefits, but there has been no word from Ohio at this point.  Please see the pasted guidance from DJFS below.  Below is a link to the Ohio Association of Foodbanks that need help with food in the coming weeks.

DJFS Guidance:  SNAP November Issuance – Federal Shutdown  On October 10, 2025, the U.S Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) notified all states that if the federal government shutdown continues, “there will be insufficient funds to pay full November SNAP benefits.”

-This means no November benefits can be issued while the shutdown is in place.
-Because of this, all November SNAP issuances have been and will continue to be changed from Issued to Held in Ohio Benefits. These benefits will not be added to customer EBT accounts until the federal government shutdown ends.
-The following journal entry will be added to each affected record:11/2025 SNAP issuance(s) have been updated to Held due to the Federal Government Shutdown. Any funds held will be issued once the federal government shutdown ends.
